Wow - 2025 is here and January felt like a very strange month. I felt like it took forever, although I did enjoy it.
Lots of good things went on - we have a New President! I think this was the best part!
Now I also started a new plan for weight loss and a new mentality when it comes to weight loss. I have come to accept the fact that I am in perimenopause which I'm sure is contributing to my weight gain, low energy, and occasional moodiness. Throughout all of 2023 and 2024, I've maintained healthy eating habits and an active lifestyle but I have gained weight instead of losing it. Now I'm not super strict with my diet but I don't eat bad all of the time so I do believe other things are going on. My doctor did confirm that perimenopause will affect my weight and I will have a ton of other symptoms. Her recommendation, you ask? Come back if symptoms worsen and we will discuss a treatment plan. NOPE!! This is not what I want to hear. I don't want to be on medication or have hormone therapy. This may work for some, but I don't want to go through all of that.
At the time I was still into all the BODi workouts and supplements but after they changed their business model, I decided to look at other supplements/options that are out there.
One that I've been hearing a lot about is Ozempic , and after looking into it, I don’t think it’s for me. I know it’s been a game-changer for many people, especially those managing diabetes or struggling with weight loss. But after considering the potential side effects, long-term commitment, and how it works, I just don’t feel like it aligns with what I want for my body.
As I looked around, I also stayed up to date on what other BODi coaches in my team were doing after BODi's changes and many found other companies to work with. One of the companies caught my attention and I decided to learn more about their supplements. Their supplements were created by using peptides. When I looked into Ozempic, it was a peptide. I've seen a lot of talk about peptides, so I had to look it up and here is what I learned.
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, typically consisting of two to fifty amino acids linked together by peptide bonds. They are the building blocks of proteins and play crucial roles in biological processes. Peptides can be naturally occurring or synthetically produced, and their functions are diverse, ranging from acting as hormones and neurotransmitters to serving as signaling molecules in cellular communication.
In the human body, peptides such as insulin regulate glucose levels, while endorphins act as natural pain relievers. The specific sequence of amino acids in a peptide determines its unique properties and functions. Researchers are increasingly interested in peptides for therapeutic applications, including drug development, due to their ability to target specific biological pathways with high specificity and low toxicity.
So, the Make Wellness company has created supplements using bioactive peptides to help with energy, weight management, sleep, and overall health.
Lean is in pill form, I take 2 each morning on an empty stomach and it has helped curb my appetite. I haven't been on it long so I don't have big results but I can say that I don't have crazy cravings. I have also lost a couple pounds, which is huge for me because the scale has not moved in months!
Fit is a powder that I mix with water. This one I was taking as a pre workout, but now I either take it after my workout or I take it in the afternoon for a pick-me-up. Fit helps with natural muscle recovery, increased performance, less fatigue and reduces recovery time after exercise.
I have felt the benefits from Fit a lot faster and I will definitely plan to continue taking it. I feel more energized, don't feel exhausted at the end of the day, and have been able to stick to my evening walks. Before taking Fit, I would work out at 7 AM, and then by 6 pm I was wiped out and would skip my evening walk. I'm working on movement and want to stick to strength training 5 days a week and walking every day.

As I start the second month of the year, I am keeping track of my meals and trying to make healthy choices. So, my goal for the end of February is to report back some weight loss.
If you struggle like I do, let me know and I can give you information on my workouts and supplements so they can help you like it is helping me.
